Yes, according to Bethesdas official blog, the collectors edition of the Elder ScrollsV: Skyrim is officially available for pre-order. More importantly, the item is in extremely limited quantities. So if you want one, it might be a good idea to pre order the item before you get the rest of the details after the jump.
Honestly, were all for collectors editions, and just looking at that massive dragon statue makes us want to get the full set here and now. But with the cost burning about 150 Euros (also roughly 150 USD) in our pockets, this is one collectors edition that might force you to sacrifice buying any other games until after the holiday season.
Quite an expensive price tag for a collector’s edition is it not? Well, the dragon figure is pretty huge. At 12 inches tall, this statue is going to tower over plenty of other figures you may have in your shelf (we can imagine placing it beside the Minas Tirith bust that comes with the special extended edition of the LOTR: Return of the King just for fun). Anyway, this PVC figure is named Alduin, also known as the World Eater. Judging from the screenshots, he’s mounted over a piece of wall with the Skyrim logo and some ancient dragon-language text.
But Alduin is not all that you will be shelling outthe megabucks for. The collector’s edition also comes with a special making of DVD, where we’re guessing that Todd Howard and company talks about all the interesting things that happened behind the scenes. The set also comes with a hard cover artbook which comes with over 200 illustrations accompanied by commentary from the artists and staff. Sized at 9 3/8 x 12 1/8, and features key locations, characters, creatures and items, this artbook will make for a perfect addition to any gamer’s library.
Lastly, the set also comes packed with the pre-order bonus cloth map, which we talked about in our previous post. With the set’s hefty price tag, some players might be wary about taking a serious chunk out of their holiday budget. But for hardcore Elder Scrolls fans, this is a must have item that you cannot afford to pass up on.
